Burning Rubber in the bedroom

It’s the Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend. Hands up Formula One fans! This is the time of year when as a stripper, I’d be on-stage in an F1 racer girl outfit, with a giant chequered flag. I would use the flag at the start of the show, and return to it at the end to wrap my naked body in.

Depending on the average age of the audience, the music would be Rihanna ‘Shut Up And Drive’ (younger crowd) or Fleetwood Mac ‘The Chain’ (older crowd – the music used for decades as the Grand Prix theme). It was always a wildly well-received show!

Pic: Me in my racer girl outfit, one of a collection of photo cards with blank backs, on which I used to write my upcoming shifts for guys who wanted to follow me. This was my only outfit in my 12 years of dancing that had trousers.

For a couple of years I ran an underground private lapdance party, called Delicious (‘Delightful acts from luscious girls’) with two other dancers. We had an F1-themed party one year. We went all-out with decor and costumes. I even found a fragrance company doing ‘life-identical fragrances’, and purchased Burning Rubber, which we sprayed liberally around the room.

It was great fun coming up with the party themes, and day-to-day as a dancer with stage shows relevant to the season or cultural headlines. Here’s a flyer from a July arty, themed to the Wimbledon tennis championships.

Do you ever bring topical or seasonal themes into your sex life? I have a skimpy little Christmas outfit that comes out in between Christmas and New Year, and certain lingerie that gets worn on holiday. But I could put a bit more effort in; there are other occasions of the year when, stripper-style, I could liven up my look...

Easter gives the opportunity of bunny girl or bunny boy outfits. There’s Valentine’s Day of course, probably the one where most people make an effort, with fancy red lingerie. Halloween gives lots of opportunities for Dom/Domme and kinky looks.

You may have your own particular occasions to remember, if you are in a relationship. Personal share: Tech Support still has the pair of boxer shorts he was wearing the first time I ever saw him without trousers. He wears those on the anniversary of that memorable date. And I have the wedding lingerie I wore on my wedding night.

You don’t need to be in a relationship to adopt this practice. You can read, watch or listen to erotica themed around the seasons or around public holidays and celebrations. I’m not signed up to any of the audio erotica apps but I assume some of them do this? If not then there’s a gap in the market!

Anything that helps make our sexual lives more varied, fun and playful helps keep our spark alive.

When I started writing this I hadn’t actually planned to get my giant F1 flag out for some intimate time this weekend… but maybe I will! I’ll skip the Burning Rubber fragrance though.

What will you slip into…?
